The two-headed ice giant of Elbrus is by far the most popular climb in Russia. Standing 5,642m tall, it is the highest summit of the European continent and one of the most accessible peaks in the Seven Summits program. In our usual quest for pristine landscapes, we are offering ascents via the uncrowded Northern slopes. Other routes, easier or more technical, are available upon request.
Of course, mountaineering in Russia and ex-USSR is not limited to Elbrus, provided you can see the allure of less than perfect infrastructure dating back to the Soviet times. Along with the still tangible legacy, a growing present-day climbing community and dramatic peaks rivaling the Alps, there is one more thing that makes our mountains special: a unique chance to witness traditional lifestyle at isolated mountain villages.
